(Solved by Expert Tutors) I am currently taking a manufacturing class that ties in metallurgy


as well. I know that this may not be some of your forte, but this is kind of a big conceptual misunderstanding for me. I know that the laws of nucleation and growth, i.e. kinetics contribute to precipitate size. However, according to my professor, and my textbook, this is not always the case. According to the process for tempering a metal, slow cooling leads to finer precipitates, which violates this rule. Can someone with a little more background in this help me out??
